The Cathedral of St. Patrick

Located on Dilworth Road, The John Henry Phelan family of Beaumont, Texas donated the funds to build the Saint Patrick in loving memory of his parents, Patrick and Margaret Adele Phelan.  Frank Frimmer, an Austrian native known for remodeling famous Old World churches, designed and supervised construction of the church, with its gray stucco face, 400-seat nave, balcony and 77-foot tall tower. The ground breaking took place on March 17, 1939.

Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Schoolhouse

This one-room school house is located on the grounds of Sugaw (Sugar) Creek Presbyterian Church. The latter is located at the corner of North Tryon and Sugar Creek Road. In 1960, the school became a church museum. Physical Description: 8x10 glossy. Publisher: Unknown

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is located on East Boulevard. Every September, the members of the church present The Greek Festival. It is one of the most popular events in the city.

South Graded School aka Carolina Military Institute

Piedmont Building

World War I Doughboy Monument
