Living Room

As you enter the living room, you look south from the hallway [9] and will see a fireplace between two windows. The Empire Revival style parlor set was donated by two members of the community. The couch is circa 1850. [10]

As you turn north in the living room towards the hall [11], notice the antique chest of drawers. Looking towards the west wall [12] you see a piano and an antique secretary. The secretary and chest of drawers are on loan from the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte.

Exiting the living room, you are in the hall once more. The view from the back porch towards the front of the house [13] shows a small door under the stairs. This leads to a basement, which the Cook family dug by hand after 1924.
