View of Highland Mill #3 [1]

Highland Mill #3 [2] was the largest and most imposing cotton mill erected in Charlotte. It opened in November 1904. Located in North Charlotte along the Southern Railroad, the plant was designed and constructed by Stuart W. Cramer. Highland Park Mill #3 manufactured gingham. It operated with 20,000 spindles and 5,000 looms.
