1948: Shout Freedom!

Shout Freedom!, by Legette Blythe, used one of the largest outdoor sets in state history.  It ran for two weeks at the Southern States Fairground. Thousands of people attended each performance. The full text of the play [1] is available in the Historic Documents section [2]of this exhibit.
