Firemen’s Ball.

We make our acknowledgment to the Committee for a Complimentary Card to attend the Ball to be given at the Mansion House, on the approaching 20th of May. That is a day which this city and the people of the old county of Mecklenburg have always held in hallowed recollection, and we are glad the Fire Company have determined to celebrate it as was the custom in times of old. The Salisbury Band has been engaged, and from the gentlemen who are at the head of the Ball we anticipate a very brilliant and pleasant occasion. Many strangers will be in our city on that day, and the Ball will afford a fit opportunity for the display of the beauty and chivalry for which our city is so noted.
