Jordan's Drug Store

Jordan's Drug Store was located in the first block of North Tryon Street at the Square. Owned and operated by Robert Hall Jordan (1856-1908), a native of Chester, South Carolina, who moved to Charlotte where he opened a successful drugstore. He was also involved in banking and textiles.

Woodall & Sheppard Drugstore

The people in this image are identified as Woodall and Shepherd Graduates in Pharmacy. The information on the back of this photograph indicates it was the Fitzsimmons Drugstore. However, the original image clearly identifies the picture as the Woodall and Shephard Pharmacy that was located on the Square.

Dr. Thomas Arthur Walker

Dr. Thomas Arthur Walker (1879-1939) ran Walker Drugstore at 332 North Tryon Street. Today, this building still stands on the corner of 8th and Tryon. The Fox & Hound Pub is located there.
