Mrs. Martha Bird, a member of Oak St. (AME Zion) Church (Petersburg,VA), learned on Monday on Sunday night, her mother, living near Ford`s Depot, Died from her house `taking fire`. She ( Mrs. Bird) went up to Fords to attend the funeral of her mother on Tuesday.
