He died at age 23 while serving at Camp Greene. Because his family did not claim his body, he was buried on 3/22/1918 at Elmwood Cemetery by the local War Mothers and American Legion Auxiliary. They placed a permanent headstone of Georgia marble on 5/30/1928. He was from Columbus, Ohio.
