Missing in action following a gas attack that rolled back on the US troops. Men tried to retreat from the gas cloud as the Germans opened fire, and some were hung up in the barbed wire. Two men were not found, Arnett and Grisdale, both from Charlotte.Collier lists him as buried at Oaklawn Cemetery.
