He was appointed Director of Military Courtesy on 12/29/1917. This department was to correct violations of Special Regulations No. 41 (Uniform Regulations) and the military courtesy on the part of the officers and enlisted men of this camp, both within Camp Greene and the City of Charlotte.He wrote up 17 enlisted men who failed to salute him on 4/13/1918.
