Biographical Notes:
Along with George Steed and Elliott Stewart, he spent a year at Ft. Caswell. They were then sent to France in October 1918. They returned to the U.S. in March 1919. They did not get to the front and were happy with that. They lost many men on their boat going overseas to the flu. 'They died so fast at Brest that they couldn't get coffins for them.'
