Biographical Notes: 
Designated captain of a contingent of 70 men from Charlotte who were sent to Camp Jackson.School yearbook describes him as chunky. His ambition was to have his love requited. Classmates gave him a going away party in March 1911 before he entered the Naval Academy.Buried at Elmwood Cemetery.Some men appear on the draft lists for the city or county but were not found in the microfilmed copies of the draft cards. He was listed as a 22 year old white male living in the city. In the 1918 city directory he was a high school teacher and lived at 10 W. Hill St.
