Biographical Notes: 
Dr. J. A. Bangle of Charlotte succeeded him as commander of the sanitary detachment of the Coast Artillery, after his resignation. He entered practice as a pediatrician in Charlotte in 1915.He played golf until he was 89 and died in June, 1976.
