His high school annual describes him as 5'8', 135 lbs. He was a star debater and loyal to CHS, but his heart was in Monroe. His favorite saying was 'Doggone' and his ambition was to be president of the Lodo Academy. The class prophesized that he would become a senator and voted him best athlete. His residence in 1918 was 228 N. College. In the 1918 city directory he was in the Army.
