A letter he wrote his parents from Saumur, Main et Loire, France on 2/16/1919 was printed in The Charlotte Observer on 3/5/1919. According to the letter, he was working in an office but was still having to drill and ride horses. He attended the American Legion Convention in Paris from September 19-24, 1927. At that time, he listed Charlotte, NC, as his hometown. His name appears on the city draft list. These cards have not survived. He was white and 28 years old. He lived with Tromulus, Flonnie, Roy and Hester.
