His family moved to Charlotte in 1887. He appeared on the city draft rolls- his 3 brothers were already in the Army. He was single and living with his parents in 1920. During the 2nd World War, he was involved with the Community Chest and the Red Cross.Funeral services were held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, with burial at Elmwood.
