Biographical Notes: 
He registered for the draft in the city of Charlotte. The city draft roll survives, but the draft cards do not.Named Charlotte News 'Man of the Year' in 1945, he served as the 1st president of the Children's Nature Museum and the United Community Foundation. He was president of the Chamber of Commerce in 1954.
