Thomas Allison [1]

For many years a Salisbury merchant, he was killed in one of the pits at his gold mine. The rope attached to a 200 lb. tub of dirt broke and it fell 30 feet onto his head. His spine was broken and his body otherwise mangled but he lingered for 3 days until death relieved him of his suffering. Originally published in the Salisbury Journal.
