Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He moved to Charlotte from Charleston, SC. He had assumed the job as Assistant Control Officer at Dallas Love Field. He was killed when the Lockheed-Hudson B-34 plane he was a passenger in crashed two miles from Morris Field southwest of the runway after first circling the field. He was riding with pilot Joe F. Cannon, Jr. and co-pilot, J. R. Ibing. At the time of the crash, he was living at 2220 Malvern Rd., Charlotte. He had caught a ride with Cannon from Dallas to Charlotte to get his wife and children to move them to Dallas, TX. They had planned to drive to Texas. Mrs. Robertson had closed her home on Malvern the previous day.
