In the 1990s the World Wide Web changed the information landscape. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library seized the opportunities it offered.

Internet Access [4] - The Library adapted to the digital age by adding electronic content to its collection and offering internet access as a public service in the early 1990s.

National Recognition [5] - The Library's commitment to developing the community's digital literacy made it a trailblazer among American public systems.

Library Web Site [6] - In 1996, the Library became a presence on the web.
