1991 - Jodeci goes platinum.

  • Charlotte group Jodeci goes platinum, selling a million copies of its very first album, "Forever My Lady." 
  • Jodeci is made up of two sets of brothers; Dalvin and Donald DeGrate, and Joel and Cedric Hailey. All are sons of local ministers and have recorded gospel music with their families. The brothers met in 1988 and formed Jodeci. 
  • Their 1991 CD “Forever My Lady” sold over a million copies and went to number one on the Billboard charts. Jodeci’s top 40 hit list includes: “Come and Talk to Me,” “Stay,” “Gotta Love,” “Cry for You,” “Feelin',” and “Lately."
