Frank N. Littlejohn (1885-November 28,1965) was one of Charlotte's most well known law enforcement figures. He joined the Charlotte Police Department in 1937 and rose through the ranks to become Chief of Police in 1946.

Chief Littlejohn had a long and colorful career as Chief of Police, but his greatest fame came while he was still a detective on the force. In 1933, Littlejohn received national recognition for his work in capturing Roger "The Terrible" Touey and his gang. Littlejohn tracked and captured the Touey Gang after they robbed a Charlotte mail truck. His work brought commendation from the FBI. J. Edgar Hoover, at one time, called Frank Littlejohn the finest detective in the United States.

Chief Littlejohn retired from the Charlotte Police Force in 1958. He died in Charlotte in 1965. He is buried in his native Cherokee County, South Carolina.
