Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: His wife received a telegram that he had been seriously ill as a result of a truck accident on 3-31-1944 in New Guinea, where he had been stationed for 2 months. He was taken to Australia for treatment of a spinal injury and treated in the 117th Station Hospital. He was buried in a military cemetery in Australia. Later reinterred in Section C Grave 1002 in the National Memorial Cemetery in Honolulu, HI. Memorial services was held at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church on 4-30-1944 and 12-30-1945.
