Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He died aboard the U.S.S. Franklin, along with his cousin by marriage, David Anderson Allen. Charlottean Thomas Kimbrough Joyner was also killed when the carrier was hit by a Japanese suicide bomber. Burial at sea with full honors. Memorial service held at Purity Presbyterian Church in Chester, SC on May 6. Memorial marker at Punchbowl National Cemetery in Honolulu, HI.
