Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: One of four men who were killed when their medium bomber crashed at the field during a combat training flight. Memorial service at Sardis ARP Church on Jan 2, 1945, and at Dover Airfield on Jan 7, 1945. Burial in the church cemetery. The Miller-Peoples Bible Class is named for church members Richard Preston Peoples and Julian Miller, Jr., who both died in service in WWII. Preston Lane in Charlotte is named for Preston Peoples.
