Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He served in the South Pacific for 28 months. He returned to the U.S. for 6 months then returned overseas as a replacement. He was wounded at Guadalcanal, and was among the first ones to land. He died immediately from a shrapnel wound that he received when the Marines landed on Oroku Peninsula on Okinawa. He is buried on Okinawa in the 6th Division Cemetery that overlooks the bay.
