This house, located at 2216 Monument Street, is a late Victorian style southern farmhouse. The front porch has been replaced and handrails added for the convenience and safety of visitors to the home. The front entrance, which is not original to the house, is the most decorative part of the house's exterior and is in an Italianate Revival style. The porch has three Doric columns and no railing. The room to the right of the entrance that protrudes from the front of the house serves as the museum.

 

The house has a steep rise in elevation in the front yard. It is necessary to climb two sets of stairs to reach the front door. For visitors who would find this difficult to manage, a ramp is available at the rear entrance.
