He served under Colonel Macomb at Camp Greene. He was announced as Adjutant effective 10/4/1918.He appointed a board of officers to determine the extent of damage caused by the recent rains to the Rifle Range near the Catawba River. This rain, which occurred in October 1918, caused so much damage that the committee needed to determine the feasibility of repairing and rebuilding the Rifle Range.
