Biographical Notes: 
She was one of the last 3 surviving members of the Army Nurse Corps. She served with Brenizer's unit, a hospital unit in Bordeaux made up of 84 people from the Charlotte area. Many of the wounded soldiers died due to the lack of modern medicine, and she contracted the flu after treating soldiers who were stricken during the epidemic. She was discharged in 1919.She was born in a house at Sharon and Sharon View roads. She and her husband worked in Asheville until they retired in 1946, when they moved back to Charlotte. She died at Providence Convalescent Residence. Following the funeral at St. Gabriel's Church, she was buried at Sharon Memorial Park.
