Returned to Charlotte where he will teach military tactics at the Horner Military school.He has been desperately wounded twice and suffered greatly from being gassed and from shell shock. He is a veteran of two wars. He went to Canada in July, 1915 and went to France with a draft of new men. A water oak was planted on the grounds of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Charlotte in 2/1919 in his honor.
