Biographical Notes:
Enlisted from Paw Creek. Charlotte News article gives his name as Dolphine. His letter home described living in No Man's Land on the Front. The shells sailing over his head furnished plenty of music to go to bed by, and an alarm clock to rise by. He was living easy and getting 12 hours of sleep a night. They only served 2 meals because they did not want to get up before dawn and light a fire. The crossing over took 12 days and he was very sick, but no submarines bothered them. He was living in a tent in the woods with a Berryhill fellow.
