Elizabeth College

Mercy Hospital School of Nursing
Mercy Hospital was founded by the Sisters of Mercy of Belmont, North Carolina in February 1906. Originally it was a twenty-five bed facility in a wooden building on East First Street behind St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. The second facility, pictured here, opened in 1916 on East Fifth Street. Additions increased and by 1960, the hospital had a capacity of 300 beds. Carnegie Library of Charlotte

Second Presbyterian Church
The Second Presbyterian Church was located at 214 North Tryon Street. It opened on October 22, 1873. The church served as a focal point for many Charlotteans until June 1947 when the congregation merged with Westminster Presbyterian Church to form Covenant Presbyterian Physical Description: 3x5 Publisher: S H Kress
Methodist Home

Charlotte Coliseum
This is Charlotte Coliseum that was built off of Independence Boulevard in 1955. This facility was one of the finest designs of its day. In 1989, the second Charlotte Coliseum opened in 1989 off of the Billy Graham Parkway. Today Coliseum #1 is used by a professional hockey team and other sporting clubs and events.
