Little Rock AME Zion Church

Little Rock AME Zion Church

The Little Rock AME Zion Church was originally located in Third Ward. In 1919, the building was moved to Myers Street in First Ward. It took several days, and it was necessary to hold a funeral in the sanctuary during the move.

Later the church moved to this building on Seventh Street. The building survived urban renewal and eventually became the home of the Afro American Cultural Center. The congregation built a new facility on McDowell Street adjacent to the site.
