Charlotte Mecklenburg Library >> Fighting to Stay Relevant, 1999-2009

In the first decade of the 21st century, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library strove to make visits to the branches more worthwhile and staff more skilled in providing information.

Library Branches - The Library relied on architecture, programming, and technology to make the branches distinctive.

Library Staff -  As library services evolved and diversified, the staff had the responsibility to make them work.

The Library as Destination - In the 2000s, the Main Library added new services in house, and a new publication kept county residents informed of special events throughout the system.

The Family of Websites - The Library sought to make its website worth a visit as well by offering readers advisory and reference through specialized pages.
