The Carolina Room presents Dr. Tom Hanchett, co-author of “The Charlotte Country Music Story” (www.historysouth.org/recordedinclt/) to talk about a little-known chapter in Charlotte’s history.

 

With Ken Burns’ Country Music showing on PBS, interest is high right now in America’s roots music history. Did you know — back in the ‘30s, more music was recorded in Charlotte than in Nashville? Learn about the Queen City’s heyday as a country and gospel recording center.
