Generous Gifts & Donations

What makes libraries special are the unique gifts from loyal patrons. During the last few months, the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room has received a donation of the Kale family and Kale-Lawing business records. Kale-Lawing was an office supply company located in downtown Charlotte. Mr. Kale was active in the Lions Club, the North Carolina Merchants Association, as well as the Charlotte Merchants Association. The Kale family hopes that their donation will encourage other local businesses to place their photographs and important papers in an archive, such as the Carolina Room.

Another very unique gift has been donated by the Haigler family. The family donated very early photographs of their family and east Mecklenburg area, as well as World War II Navy photos of Mr. Haigler and memorabilia. We are so thankful to all of our contributors!
