Late 1940s - Arthur Grier builds Grier Heights.
In the 1940s and 1950s, Charlotte businessman and funeral home owner Arthur Grier becomes a developer and builds more than 100 homes off Monroe Road. This part of Charlotte is called Grier Heights.
